  16. This file is a patch for ATPS.NLM v3.1, included in NetWare for Macintosh
  17. v3.01.  The file requires PATCHMAN.NLM v2.20 or higher, which is included. 
  18. The patch fixes a problem where printing to the ATPS Print Spooler could
  19. intermittently ABEND the server.

  45. This file is a patch for ATPS.NLM v3.1, included in NW-MAC 3.01. It
  46. requires PATCHMAN.NLM v2.20 or higher which is included.
  47.                 
  48. The patch fixes a problem where printing to the ATPS Print Spooler could
  49. intermittently ABEND the server. The running process might be listed as
  50. ATPS, but often it was identified as the Streams Q Runner or AppleTalk
  51. stack processes, and the listed cause would vary. The problem was generally
  52. experienced when printing documents that claimed that they were Adobe
  53. Document Structuring Convention compliant, but which in fact were incorrect
  54. in their compliance.

  56. To use the patch, load it on a server running ATPS.NLM v3.1.  When ATPS is
  57. unloaded, the patch should be unloaded as well, and reloaded whenever ATPS
  58. is loaded again.

  60. NOTE: just because this patch is shown as a loaded module or listed as
  61. installed by the "PATCHES" console command does not mean it is active. 
  62. Always unload and reload load if you unload and reload ATPS.

  64. The problem described was not present in NW-MAC 3.0 and is only present in
  65. NW-MAC 3.01.  This patch will not load on versions of ATPS other than 3.1.

  67. To install the patch to the ATPS:
  68.  
  69.  (a) Copy PATCHMAN.NLM and ATPSFIX1.NLM to SYS:\SYSTEM.
  70.  (b) Add the following commands to AUTOEXEC.NCF:
  71.        LOAD PATCHMAN
  72.        LOAD ATPSFIX1
  73.      The lines should be added after the LOAD ATPS command line.
  74.  (c) Down the server and re-boot, or manually load PATCHMAN and ATPSFIX1 at
  75. the NetWare console.
